Kate has been with us for the past 12 years. She teaches beginners’ and more advanced obedience classes. She has been involved with flyball competitions with her older Australian Shepard, Kujo and enjoys sharing the training of her younger Aussie, Tikka, with her mom, Tessa. Kate came to the club originally with Tessa and their previous Aussie, Ninja. They really loved training Ninja and then Kujo and found it was a lot of fun to help people with their dogs as well as training their own.
An engaged class who wants to learn keeps Kate motivated. Kate is always exchanging hints, tips and videos about training methods with her mum and this keeps her inspired. To Kate, the club is a place she gets to spend time with dogs, family, and people who want to improve their relationship with their dog. It's allowed her to have a brilliant relationship with Ninja, Kujo, and now Tikka.
Outside of The Club, Kate is an educational technologist specialising in chemistry. Her husband, Jarryd gets dragged into the dog stuff but also really enjoys it and she has two older brothers both living overseas. Kate runs with Tikka during the week and on the mountain with Jarryd on the weekend. She enjoys playing computer games with friends.
